Ames; Jan from the University of Northern Iowa and the University of Iowa Medical School; and Michelle attended the University of Northern Iowa and then graduated from Washburn University, Topeka.

Baker/Sproatt Connection

William Henry Baker and his wife, Pamelia Clark Baker, left their Crown Point, NY farm in early May of 1858. They arrived at Prairie du Chien, Wl in June of the same year. William was looking for farm land and first moved to Garnavillo, IA and then to 400 acres of land they bought north of Castalia where they set up their home in the West.

Their son, Albert Clark Baker (b. 1854) was born on the farm at Crown Point, grew up at Castalia and moved to Decorah in 1896. He built the Baker home at Prospect Place. Albert married Maude Davis and they had they following children, all born on the farm at Castalia: Ethel (Waterman), Alice (Daubney), Harrie, Arthur and Russell D. Baker.

Russell was born in 1896 and moved to the house at Prospect Place in 1897. Russell married Ruth Robinson of Maquoketa, IA in 1920. Their children were: Jean Clark (b. 4 Jan 1922) and William D. “Dave’’ .
